A note about the work from the artist:
Moonrise on Jacqueline Sue is a long exposure photograph taken in September, 2024 in Mesquite, Nevada. As the moon rose over the mountain ridge, lighting distant clouds and the desert valley, this creosote bush became the subject of focus, a spiny main character in the landscape. The creosote bush has great spiritual significance across the southwest US, symbolizing resilience, adaptability, survival, and the ability to thrive and create beauty in harsh, bleak environments. When you rub its leaves, it gives off the unforgettable scent of fresh rain, petrichor, a reminder of the promise of a new beginning. It’s one if my favorite plants in the desert, and always reminds me to nurture the flame of hope, even in the darkest of nights.
I named the piece after a beautiful and resilient woman in my life who had a battle with cancer this year, overcame it and is now in remission. I'm proud to say she has the first edition hanging above her fireplace, a reminder of her astonishing strength.
This marks my first print edition open to all of my friends and supporters online, and I'm proud to say I've put years worth of care into the craft of print making to bring you the highest possible quality of image to cherish in the spaces you live, work, play and pray.
