Midamerican Fever Dream - Opening Night

Summer Wagner’s Midamerican Fever Dream is a narrative collection of lens-based works telling the story of a family confronting the shadows of American normalcy in the impressing  post-industrial landscape of the Midwest. The story begins in the digital medium: the first nine of the seventeen 1/1 works are NFTs on Wagner’s MAFD contract on the ethereum blockchain. The collection and the story’s end climaxes  with eight 1/1 60-inch works and digitally authenticated through Transient Lab’s trace program. Midamerican Fever Dream challenges the dogma of the digital and traditional art worlds yet simultaneously bridges the gap between the two.
